Tell us how your group met, your running joke, the night you still talk about. We turn it into a real route through the city — with an ending built for your story.
Generic clues, buggy check-ins, the same five stops for every group. Nobody remembers a trivia question about a building. They remember who showed up.
So we build the whole thing around your group — your jokes, your places, and an ending nobody else gets.
Every stop is written from what your group tells us. Tap an occasion to see how a clue shifts.
Sample clues. Yours are written from your intake answers.
A quick, fun intake — how you met, your running jokes, the night you still talk about. About six minutes.
Real NYC stops, clues written around your story, and an ending built for your group — reviewed by a human before it's yours.
Join with a room code — no app to download. Crack each clue, unlock the next stop, and see where it all ends.
Everyone opens play.vounia.com and types the room code. No app, no sign-up.
Clues arrive one at a time, written around your group — with hours and cash-only flags so nothing surprises you.
Type a guess. Close answers get a hint instead of a flat "wrong."
Everyone gets their own secret mini challenge between stops. At the end, the group votes on who pulled theirs off.
The last stop is built for you — a reservation, a place that means something, or someone you didn't expect.
A short intake, then a route written around your group's real history — reviewed by a human, with an ending made for you.
Founder-vetted routes through NYC's best neighborhoods. Real local stops, no copy-paste trivia, self-guided whenever you're ready.
I was traveling a while back, and like most trips, we ended up doing all the big touristic things — the landmarks everyone goes to. I kept noticing that not everyone in the group actually wanted that. I remember wishing there was a way to make it feel more ours.
Not long after, I was watching TV and caught an episode built around a scavenger hunt — and it clicked.
What if you merged the two? A hunt through the city, built entirely around the people playing it.
My background is in finance and business — but Vounia is the thing I couldn't stop thinking about. I'm building it here in NYC, one crew at a time, and I'd love for yours to be next.
Become a stop on the route. Groups show up excited to be there, and it's free to join.
Nope. Everyone joins from their own phone's browser with a room code — clues, answers, and progress sync live across the whole group.
For bespoke hunts, you tell us how long you want it and how many stops, and we build around that. Templated hunts run about an hour.
Groups of two and up. Bespoke hunts are $40 per person for groups of 2–5 and $33 per person for groups of 6 or more. Templated hunts are a flat $20 per person.
Absolutely — a lot of stops are real NYC cafés, bars, and local spots. Go at your own pace; the next clue waits for you.
Bespoke hunts can be rescheduled but aren't refundable. Templated hunts are non-refundable once your access link is sent.
We use them only to build your hunt, and we delete your intake answers and hunt content six months after you play.
That's the fun part. Depending on your group, the hunt can finish at a reservation you already have, a place that means something to you, with a celebration package, or with a friend you didn't expect to see.
We're running a small pilot in New York City before public launch. First groups in get priority booking and founding-year pricing.
